Lecturers & Examiners
Lecturers
In addition to the professorships for ‘Cultural Heritage and Cultural Property Protection’ and ‘Cultural Heritage,’ the programme also involves HCCH staff and numerous other professors and lecturers from Heidelberg University. Furthermore, external lecturers and numerous cooperation partners contribute their expertise to the programme.
Examiners
You will need two supervisors for your MA thesis. The two full-time professors at the HCCH, Prof. Dr. Thomas Schmitt and N. N., are the first choice as primary supervisors for Master's theses.
In addition, the right to supervise has been granted to other professors who are closely associated with the programme and the HCCH or who are recognised experts in the field. This applies to Prof. Dr Christian Witschel (Managing Director of the HCCH), Prof. Dr Diamantis Panagiotopoulos (member of the HCCH Board of Directors), Prof. Dr Christiane Brosius (spokesperson for the Flagship Initiative Transforming Cultural Heritage) and Prof. Dr Henry Keazor (member of the HCCH Executive Committee).
University lecturers from the faculty (professors and private lecturers) who are qualified in the respective field of work are eligible to serve as second examiners. Prof. Dr. Dr. Dimitrij Davydov, lecturer in the field of monument law, is also authorised to serve as a second examiner.
It is desirable that at least one of the two examiners belongs to the core team of the degree programme.
