Starting in the summer term of 2026: Junior Professorship for Digital Cultural Heritage at HCCH
We are very happy to welcome Rahaf Orabi, Ph.D at Heidelberg University in spring 2026. She will join the HCCH as the new Junior Professor in „Digital Cultural Heritage Studies“. Her research focuses on the use of digital technologies to study movable and immovable cultural heritage, with particular attention to "heritage at risk"; virtual historical reconstruction; and the application of deep learning for cultural heritage protection and preservation. Rahaf holds a Bachelor of Architecture (2012), a Master Degree in Architectural Design | Digital Architecture (2016), and a Master Degree in Digital Cultural Heritage (2021). In 2023, she completed her Ph.D. in History at Péter Pázmány University, Budapest (grade: Summa Cum Laude), with a dissertation dedicated to the digital reconstruction of the historical urban fabric of the Old City of Aleppo, Syria.
